SIGNIFICANT ACHIEVEMENTS

The Committee on Information Technology has been established by the Institute to identify Information Technology challenges facing the profession and convert them into gainful. The Committee on Information Technology has been established by the Institute to identify Information Technology challenges facing the profession and convert them into gainful professional opportunities for members by conducting Conferences, Seminars, and Practical Workshops, Training programmers, courses apart from Practice Guides, Training Aids, Softwares and Publications on Information Technology for the benefit of members.

Initiatives of the Committee on Information Technology:

  1. International Initiatives: Extending Helping Hand of ICAI Brand
    • MoUs/ MRAs/Recognitions/Other Arrangements
      • ISO 9001 - 2015: The Committee on Information Technology of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has certified by ISO Certificate 9001:2015.
    • Interactions/Meetings/Forums/Programmes
      • ISA Eligibility Test on May 22nd, 2016 at 42 Centers including Sri Lanka and Nepal.
      • ISA Eligibility Test on November 12th, 2016 at 58 Centers including Sri Lanka.
      • ISA Eligibility Test on December 03rd, 2016 at 51 Centers including Sri Lanka.
      • FAFD Assessment Test on December 17th, 2016 at 22 Centers.
  2. Initiatives for Profession: Working for Building Blocks
    • Important Decisions/Initiatives/Developments: Professional Matters/Opportunities
      • The IT Committee has started Training Programme on Forensic Analytics using CAAT Tools. This hands on training enable participants leverage advance Excel and GAS (Generalized Audit Software) tool (IDEA) functionalities for assurance analytics (i.e., data analytics from an audit perspective), reporting, interpreting results and decision making.
    • Continuing Professional Education Examinations:Certificate Courses/Post-Qualification Courses
      • The Committee organized 70+ Batches of Diploma in Information System Audit(DISA) throughout the India including Nepal & Sri Lanka.
      • The Committee organized 40+ Batches of Certificate Course on Forensic Accounting and Fraud Detection course throughout the India
    • Infrastructure Initiatives:Strengthening Review Mechanism & Quality Control Industry/Corporate Initiatives/Programmes
      • The Committee on Information Technology - ICAI has organized, annual conference on Fraud and Forensic on January 12 - 13, 2017 at India Habitat Center. In a step towards providing better education to its members, the Committee on Information Technology - ICAI organized this Conference by bringing together industry experts and eminent faculties to deliver their views and thoughts on how cyber security is changing the way we do the business.
    • Seminars/Workshops/Conferences/ Other Programmes: Workshops/Training Programmes
      • The Committee has organized series of Conference on Cloud Computing - Opportunity and Challenges for CAs at Chennai, Mumbai and New Delhi on 08th November, 2013, 11th January, 2014 and 01st February, 2014 with Sify Technologies as the knowledge partner.
      • The Committee has organized WORKSHOP on IT SECURITY IN CA’s OFFICE ICAI ITT CENTRE, RVG HOSTEL,ANDHERI-WEST, Mumbai on 23rd March 2014
      • The Committee has organized WORKSHOP ON ADVANCED EXCEL 2010 at EVOLVE BUSINESS SCHOOL, SECTOR 19B, VASHI, Maharashtra on 08th March 2014.
  3. IT Initiatives: Taking Steps with the changing time

      • The Committee has launched new E- Learning Course on Forensic accounting and Fraud detection.
      • The Committee has launched new E- Learning material for Module V on Diploma in Information System Audit.
